When installing VFDs, power modules, batteries, power distribution components, large controllers, or other heavy equipment inside freestanding enclosures, advance load-bearing and center-of-gravity assessments are essential. Total equipment weight, individual unit weight, mounting height, and cabinet layout affect the design of bottom plates, mounting plates, uprights, and plinths.

Heavier equipment typically requires reinforced mounting plates, bottom brackets, support beams, or dedicated mounting structures. If equipment requires withdrawal or removal, reserve handling and maintenance clearance while verifying cabinet stability during slide-out. For double-door enclosures, evaluate load distribution on center posts and bottom plates across partitioned sections.

During transit, cabinets are subjected to vibration, tilting, and impact, so design cannot rely solely on static installed conditions. If equipment requires on-site assembly, confirm the assembly sequence for the enclosure, mounting plates, plinth, and internal components. Specific load capacity, sheet thickness, and reinforcement structures must follow engineering calculations or project drawings.
