Bottom cable entry minimizes external cable exposure and facilitates connection to underground conduits or foundations, but raises design requirements for bottom plates, openings, glands, and waterproof sealing. Prior to customization, confirm the quantity, diameter, and routing of power, signal, communication, ground, and other cables.

For enclosures with dense equipment, segregate cable zones to prevent interference among power, low-voltage, control, and communication lines. Once inside the cabinet, reserve adequate space for securing, bending, terminating, and maintenance rather than planning solely by hole size.

Bottom entry designs must also seal the interface between the foundation and the cabinet. Cable glands, gland plates, or sealing sleeves can be used, with the final design chosen based on target protection ratings and site conditions. On-site drilling or enlarging cutouts may compromise overall enclosure and foundation protection.
