Before installation, verify the load capacity of the wall, bracket, or equipment frame, and check mounting holes, door opening direction, and maintenance access. Hinged enclosures must not obstruct escape routes, passages, or adjacent equipment when opened. For large doors, ensure mounting does not cause distortion due to uneven walls.

During acceptance, check enclosure dimensions, door flatness, hinge operation, latch action, gasket continuity, door cutouts, cable entries, mounting plates, and grounding terminals. The door must operate smoothly, the latch must seal tightly when closed, and internal components must not interfere with the door or sealing areas.

For routine maintenance, inspect hinges for looseness, latches for sticking, doors for sagging, gaskets for aging, and cables for strain during door swings. If adding displays, pushbuttons, fans, or cables later, update cutout and layout drawings, and re-evaluate door load capacity, cable slack, and overall IP rating.
