Door panels and frames take the direct hit during washdown. Frames should be seamless and flat to avoid water traps or dirt build-up. Seals must cover major seams and compress evenly when closed. For wider doors, account for long-term sagging and latch load variations.

Latches, hinges, handles, and accessories must not compromise seal continuity. Frequent washing can leave detergent residues around hardware, requiring drainage-friendly, cleanable, and maintainable designs. Adding monitors, pushbuttons, or viewports requires reassessing cutout rigidity and sealing.

Washdown protection cannot rely on seals alone. Flanges, welds, door flatness, latch compression, and installation precision all affect results. Inspect closure, latching, and post-wash frame areas in final assembly before delivery.
