Doors of modular enclosures can be fitted with pushbuttons, pilot lights, displays, HMIs, viewing windows, selector switches, or other control components to meet operational needs. Cutouts must align with internal components, wire routing, and line-of-sight to prevent internal interference with displays or pushbuttons hindering door closure.

Heavy component loads on doors require evaluating door weight, hinge ratings, latch compression, and cable service loops. Wiring harness must not stretch or bend sharply during door swing, and internal modules or wire ducts must clear door-mounted components upon closing. Wide doors may require stiffeners and multi-point latching.

Control panel layouts must facilitate circuit and module identification for maintenance personnel. Labeling areas, transparent windows, or removable panels can be integrated based on project needs. Since these cutouts may affect sealing and rigidity, they must be validated during drawing design rather than field-modified on finished enclosures.
