Periodically inspect outdoor enclosures for door panels, gaskets, locks, hinges, cable glands, mounting brackets, ground connections, and bottom drainage. Clear leaves, dust, bird nests, or debris from the top to prevent drainage blockages or standing water. In coastal or high-humidity environments, inspect fasteners, welds, and coating damage more frequently.

Do not cut enclosure openings arbitrarily when adding buttons, displays, fans, cables, or conduits in the field. Update cutout drawings, verify internal clearance, inspect door and seal integrity, and re-evaluate target IP/NEMA ratings before modifications. For outdoor electrical switchboards, update electrical schematics and maintenance logs concurrently for any changes involving primary circuits, grounding, or switchgear placement.
